Body butter should be stored in a cool, dark, and dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. It is best used on clean, slightly damp skin after a shower or bath to lock in moisture. Follow up with Peaches Delights Skincare Body Oil, apply a layer of body oil on top of the body butter. The oil will create a barrier that locks in the moisture from the butter.
How to Store Body Butter:
Proper storage is key to maintaining the texture and extending the shelf life of your body butter.
- Keep it Cool and Dry: Store your body butter at room temperature, ideally between 60-70°F (15-21°C). Keep it away from heat sources like radiators, heaters, or sunny windowsills, as heat will cause the natural butters and oils to melt and lose their whipped consistency. Avoid storing it in a humid bathroom.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Sunlight and UV rays can alter the product's composition and degrade the ingredients faster. A cabinet, drawer, or pantry is an ideal location.
- Seal Tightly: Always ensure the container is tightly sealed after each use to prevent air and moisture from entering, which can introduce contaminants and shorten the shelf life.
- Use Clean Tools: To prevent introducing bacteria and moisture, use a clean, dry cosmetic spatula or scoop to get the product out of the jar, rather than your fingers.
- Refrigeration (Optional): If you live in a warm climate or if the product has melted, you can place it in the refrigerator to solidify. Note that this may slightly change the texture, but the product remains effective. Allow it to come closer to room temperature before use for easier application.
